ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan cricketer, who is now a renowned commentator, Ramiz Raja believes that Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans should prioritise home games in the fifth edition of the event. While speaking in a YouTube video, Raja spoke about the importance of winning home games for the Sultans. “Multan’s top priority should be to win their three home games because that will help them in gaining momentum, engage fans and have an impact on the tournament,” said Raja. The 57-year-old also said that the Sultans have a good think tank in place ahead of the upcoming season.
“They have a good think tank with head coach Andy Flower, Azhar Mahmood, Mushtaq Ahmed and Shahid Afridi, who will play as well as do the mentoring of players, in the camp,” he said. “Sultans’ think thank will be the key to their success and also in providing a firm footing to the franchise in the league.” Raja also spoke about Sultans’ decision to hand over the captaincy reins to Pakistan Test opener Shan Masood. “Shan Masood is a young captain but he is not a natural T20 player. He understands the game and this will be a good opportunity for him to showcase his skills in the shortest format of the game,” he said. Sultans will kick start their campaign with the match against Lahore Qalandars, in Lahore, on February21.
