Indian textbook depicts ‘mosque’ as source of noise pollution


NEW DELHI: An image in class VI textbook being taught at Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) schools in India has depicted the Muslim worship place “Mosque” as a source of noise pollution.

Published by Selina Publishers India, the sixth grade science textbook has a chapter on the causes of noise pollution.

The image has sparked outrage on social media, prompting an apology from publisher.

The Selina Publisher has apologized and promised to change the picture in the upcoming editions of the book.
