Opening batsman Abid Ali was hit on the helmet while fielding at short leg during day three of the four-day intra-squad match at the Incora County Ground. According to sources, an ambulance was called as the 32-year-old needed treatment. Abid didn’t suffer from any major injury and was able to sit up on a stretcher.

Abid is not feeling any pain and the local medical panel is looking after him. However, he may have to go to the hospital for further checks later. Abid only managed to score 10 runs in the first innings while playing for PCB Green.

He was caught behind by Mohammad Rizwan on the bowling of pacer Sohail Khan. It must be noted that yesterday, left-handed batsman Khushdil Shah suffered a fracture in his left thumb and has been ruled out of cricket for three weeks.
